This course is for anyone interested in or wanting to experiment with 35mm film photography. You can be a complete beginner or a seasoned photographer, this course is suitable for everyone and tailored to your skill level with the end goal of either learning the basics or refreshing/deepening your knowledge. It has a duration of 1 hour and is offered 1-1 via Zoom.
Together we’ll indulge in the world of analog photography; learn how to work with different cameras and films, and discover useful tips & tricks to make our photos come out better.
During this course you will learn:
- the basics of 35mm photography
- how to use different cameras and films
- the fundamentals of exposure – everything from controlling your aperture and shutter speed to understanding the light conditions
- exposing for shadows vs. highlights
- how to load your film into the camera and how to unload it when it’s done
- creative ways of framing a photograph and what settings to use for different situations
- what happens after the shooting process; developing and scanning your film
I will gladly answer any questions that come to your mind during the session and afterwards you will receive a pdf containing the course material for reviewing in your own time, as well as individual tips.
You don’t need a film camera to take part in this course but if you already have one you want to use, I will help you get to know your camera and its functions. If you need advice on choosing your first camera I can provide some suggestions.
